Ten Chimneys, a 60 acre estate located 48km from Milwaukee Wisconsin, was home to the critically acclaimed theatre acting team, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.
The newly renovated buildings, which opened to the public in 2003, invites both theatre lovers and those with a passion for grand estates a glimpse into a lifestyle of luxury and glamour. Furniture, books, decorations and wallcoverings have been lovingly restored to recreate the atmosphere of a home that served as a retreat to many of the theatre greats: Helen Hayes, Noel Coward and Lawrence Olivier to name just a few.
Today Ten Chimneys offers estate tours, exhibitions, student outreach, workshops, lectures and publications as well as master classes for working theatre professionals, teacher training programs, retreats, conferences.
